If previous games have been any hint to the upcoming games, you can expect Tekken to take at least 6 years under development before getting any announcement or release. We can also expect a cross-platform, cross-progression, and much more in the Tekken game store. Tekken 7 itself is becoming consistent with PS 5 and Xbox Series X. Since we already have Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X, you can expect the latest Tekken 8 game to be compatible with all of these consoles. More importantly, they have to redeem themselves from Tekken 7’s less appealing release. Even if there hasn’t been any official announcement, it is unlikely for Bandai Namco to cancel the series. People including myself en masse can block all Snake edges online. There’s no doubt that Tekken 8 is indeed under development. It's not about lack of knowledge, it's about the online environment. The 4 characters I mentioned in the other thread are by far the worst examples of this. ![]() I can tell people all day to "just lab asuka", these kinda things are not gonna change unless online seriously improves. So I get to use that online ton my hearts content, constantly getting frame advantage for my equally fake mixups that only work online. The sad reality is that online has a hugely negative impact on the playablity of this game.įor example my character asuka, her pressure is terrible, but online it becomes bearable because you can't low parry b1+4. There's things in this game that do not work offline.įor example, I never ate a snake edge offline despite people trying. Originally posted by Yaksou:I'd agree, but I already realized that this is just your way of trying to legitimize your online only playstyle by insisting that "if it works it works", F_F style. Not sure exactly what moves you keep falling for, but an important part of labbing a move at some point is understanding the frame data (there's cheat sheets for the essentials on every character), this way you aren't wasting so much time finding the one move that can block/whiff punish (if it's unsafe at all), if you don't know your frame data or punishes, you use your fastest move, and yes I'm aware there's plenty of +on block moves, labbing solves your problems.Īdding and sparring against people who play these problematic characters helps and should be encouraged. All are super unsafe but complete scrub killers. Since we're complaining about Alisa for some reason in this thread, she has moves that are too good against people who just can't stop pressing buttons, d/f+1+2 or u/f+4,4 if I need a launcher, and everyone falls for d+3 for some reason which is super steppable. ![]() Most characters have what's referred to as 'knowledge checks', moves which are perfectly spammable against newer players, and gets you launch punished by everyone else. To clear any confusion, you do not have to memorize the entire move list, you do not have to use the entire move list, you do not have to defend against the entire move list, because not even pros use the entire move list, just to set the record straight on this.ĭon't forget, good movement lets you get away with so much despite how gimped it is compared to most Tekkens, a sloppy KBD is infinitely more powerful than just holding back or doing regular backdash. You have to understand a character's crucial moves, common or abusable moves and strings. To quote Sajam, "You lab to solve a problem." I'm not losing to a fundamental player, i'm losing to a laggy button mashing Alisa who has mastered how to abuse the character in lag and gets carried like crazy i just labbed the crap that i was getting hit by, her stupid safe wake up attack, the projectile crap, just the dumb bs not her entire movelist Let me guess, you went through the entire movelist, trying to memorize everything. Labbing an entire character in one go is not a good way to lab. ![]()
